Jan Stendahl

Special education--worked with inclusive education for a year.
High school ILS for three years providing students with:
· Extensive Community Based Instruction (CBI)
· Mainstreaming
· Vocational training including paid work experience
· Mainstreaming into a variety of regular education classes that met the needs and interests of my students
Adult Transition Program at the  Functional Living Skills (FLS) level:
· Extensive CBI with community integration
· Vocational training with prevocational skill development, on campus jobs, and paid work experience.
· Domestic skill development which involves preparing full meals for the class every week and having fun with peers

Regular education
Migrant education for eight years
·         ELL (back then it was ESL)
·         Supplemental instruction to get students up to grade level
·         Home instruction out to ranches and labor camps
Bilingual education
·         Taught transition fifth graders.
·         Started a bilingual school newspaper
Other education experiences
·         Substitute teaching
·         Graduate TA at CSU, Fresno-Applied Reproductive Anatomy
·         Pasture management to migratory shepherds in the Himalayas (I was in the Peace Corps)
