SAR Board of Directors
Susan Roberts - Grants Committee Chair

Ms. Susan Roberts is a native of Elk Grove, California. She has a degree in Agribusiness from Cosumnes River College. Education has always played a prominent role in the life of the Roberts family; Ms. Roberts is in her fourteenth year of working in Special Education, and that in turn inspired her daughter’s own teaching career. Ms. Roberts’ experience in the field of Special Education has covered a variety of ability levels and age groups, from ages five to twenty-two. She has participated in numerous programs for children and adults with Special Needs, such as Project Ride, a program that provides therapeutic interaction with horses, and Camp ReCreation, a two-week Summer camp for adults with Special Needs through the Diocese of Sacramento.  Ms. Roberts is thrilled to be a member of the board of SAR. Her triumphant return from a lengthy battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma has intensified her commitment to advocating for the population with whom she works. Ms. Roberts currently works in the Adult Transition Program at Valley High School, Sacramento, helping young adults to develop necessary life skills that will help them as they gain independence.
